Salvinia Minima is native to South America, Mesoamerica, and the West Indies and it was introduced to the United States in the 1920s-1930s. Salvinia quickly became a popular floating plant in the aquarium hobby due to its unique leaf form and how well it absorbs nitrates in an aquarium.
Low surface agitation is recommended for Savinia to grow comfortably, but it does well in low or high light. It can also grow outside thanks to its hardy nature. Salvinia Minima is an excellent plant choice in any aquarium setup.
